Who we are

We began our journey as backyard beekeepers, simply wanting our own pure honey while supporting better pollination in our local environment. Before long, we were hooked — discovering the many rewards that come with working alongside bees.

As our hives grew in number, so did our honey harvests. What started as sharing small batches with family and friends naturally evolved into small-batch distribution, and from there, Pure Coastal Honey was born.

Pure Coastal Honey is run by Catherine and Jamie, and like all beekeepers, our journey hasn’t been without challenges. The arrival of varroa has tested beekeepers across Australia, and we’ve experienced firsthand how demanding and confronting it can be. Rather than turning away from these realities, we chose to face them head-on — learning, adapting, and strengthening our management practices to prioritise bee health and hive resilience.

We believe beekeeping is better when it’s shared…
